The role of the studio in photography is to provide the ideal space in which photographic ideas can be brought to life.
Within this setting, the photographer can control and alter specific elements, such as the lighting so that it suits the artistic style of the image to be created.
The studio lends itself well to portraiture. Product, fashion and fine art photography, to name but a few styles of photography, and can be used to photograph people, objects, animals or a combination of them all; in fact, the only real constraints are the size of the studio space.
